For nearly four decades, this eminent journal has kept professionals abreast of the latest research, theories, and intervention approaches for suicide and life-threatening behaviors. Issues examine such topics as risk factors for suicide in particular populations, assessment and risk-management approaches, advances in evidence-based prevention, methodological and ethical issues in intervention research, cross-cultural and international findings, and mental health needs of those bereaved by suicide. Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior regularly features special-focus sections (recent topics have included Suicide Intervention Research and the Role of Culture in Suicide Prevention) as well as research articles and a lively Letters to the Editor section. The impact factor of this journal is 1.18 (Journal Citation Reports® 2007, published by Thomson Scientific).
