Timely and authoritative, this accessible clinical handbook brings together the most widely used empirically supported psychodynamic therapies in one tightly edited volume. It offers clear overviews of manualized approaches such as mentalization-based treatment, transference-focused psychotherapy, supportive–expressive psychotherapy, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy, and others. Leading experts introduce each approach; address its history, unique features, techniques, and research support; present brief case vignettes; and discuss recommended resources. The consistent chapter format facilitates reference and comparison, enhancing the book's utility as a practitioner guide and text.
“An excellent, up-to-date review of the broad range of empirically supported models of psychodynamic therapy. This handbook will be a highly valuable resource for practitioners, trainees, and researchers for years to come.”
