Nock, PhD, is the Edgar Pierce Professor of Psychology at Harvard University and Research Scientist at Mass General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Franciscan Children’s. Dr. Nock has published over 400 scientific articles and numerous books, focused mostly on advancing the understanding, prediction, and treatment of suicidal and self-injurious behaviors. His research and scholarship has been recognized with numerous awards, including a MacArthur (“Genius Award”) Fellowship. At Harvard, Dr. Nock has taught courses on psychotherapy research, statistics, self-destructive behaviors, developmental psychopathology, and cultural diversity. His teaching and mentorship have been recognized with the Roslyn Abramson Teaching Award, the Petra Shattuck Prize, and the Lawrence H. Cohen Outstanding Mentor Award. |
