Karen Zilberstein, MSW, LICSW, is cofounder and Clinical Director of the Western Massachusetts chapter of A Home Within, a national organization providing long-term pro bono psychotherapy for current and former foster youth. Her clinical work, research, and numerous articles focus on attachment, trauma, foster care, adoption, and advocacy with the child welfare system, and she serves on and has chaired national committees advancing child welfare and mental health practice. Ms. Zilberstein is a recipient of the Angels in Adoption Award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute and was named a Fellow of the Association of Professionals Solving the Abuse of Children.
Richard J. Delaney, PhD ("Rick"), is a nationally known trainer who has given several hundred presentations to foster, kinship, and adoptive parents, as well as helping professionals, throughout the United States and Canada. He is cofounder of and a principal contributor to the online training resource FosterParentCollege.com. Dr. Delaney’s research focuses on the use of multimedia interactive online training for caregivers raising children with challenging behavior. He has coauthored several peer-reviewed journal articles related to the use of web-based and blended training for foster, kinship, and adoptive parents who are raising substance-exposed or traumatized children.
