Maurice L. Bulls, MEd, is Executive Director and Lead Trainer of Behavior Change Consulting Institute (BCC), a nonprofit company dedicated to training in evidence-based practice to promote health behavior change, particularly as tailored for marginalized and stigmatized populations. He is an active member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). Mr. Bulls has trained over 50 organizations in the United States across academia, health resources and departments, hospitals, recovery centers, and justice settings. He also directed statewide training for the Department of Children and Families in Florida. Mr. Bulls has extensive experience in inner-city school settings and has been involved in manual development for new interventions. He founded the BCC FLEX Program, which integrates MI with skills training and physical activity. His academic partnerships have resulted in critical research on implementation of MI in clinical and community settings.
Sylvie Naar, PhD, is Distinguished Endowed Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine at the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine. She is Founding Director of FSU's Center for Translational Behavioral Science and Director of the Clinical and Translational Science Award. Trained as a pediatric health psychologist, Dr. Naar has conducted behavioral health disparity research with adolescents and emerging adults since the 1990s, has led several research projects on community implementation of motivational interviewing (MI) tailored for adolescents and emerging adults, and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). Dr. Naar is a recipient of the National Institutes of Health’s Director’s Transformative Research Award. She has over 225 publications in peer-reviewed journals,
